e.tv to rock Soweto festival



e.tv is gearing up for yet another exhilarating Soweto festival,  between 23 and 25 September at the Joburg Expo centre in Nasrec. Now in its seventh year, the Soweto Festival Expo has moved from the University of Johannesburg to a bigger venue at the Nasrec Joburg Expo centre.e.tv’s partnership with Soweto festival began 3 years ago, with the channel aiming to showcase the channel’s personalities, giving viewers a chance to meet stars from their favourite shows.  This year, e.tv's presence at the Soweto festival will be marked by a much bigger, entertainment filled line up of designed to thrill viewers throughout the entire weekend from Friday 23 to Saturday 25 September. The channel will round off the weekend with a family day on Sunday, where young and old viewers allow will experience their favourite shows first hand.


Group Head of Marketing Communications and CSI, Michelle Kirby says: “We are excited to be partnering with Soweto festival once again, the festival has been hugely successful over the past few years and our partnership with Soweto festival has brought our viewers colourful and energy infused entertainment for the past 3 years. To celebrate the growth of this year’s festival, we saw it fit to dedicate an entire family day to Soweto festival. Viewers are guaranteed a fun filled day with lots interaction with our e.tv personalities. We have interesting activities which will ensure that the festival leave a long lasting impression with our viewers” The e is for everyone Soweto festival weekend will be packed with all kinds of excitement starting off on Friday 23 September, with e News channel, Sunrise and the lotto taking centre stage between 10am and 6PM. Viewers will be able to take part in TV presenting competitions, in which competitors will act as if they’re presenting the News. The public will also get a demonstration of how a live lotto draw is done.  Saturday, 24 September will see Kaelo stories of hope, Forgive and forget as well as Blame it on Fame take center stage between.

Viewers will get to experience the show and a chance to interact with their favorites presenters on set. As the weekend comes to an end on Sunday, 25 September, viewers can bring their families for a family fun day where they will enjoy entertainment from a colourful line up of these prominent artists:

Renowned musician and poet Ntsiki Mazwai will carry the program throughout.

The activities planned throughout the Soweto festival are an extension of the channel’s new brand campaign “e is for everyone”, which aims to give viewers a chance to interact with the brand. The channel’s diverse programming line up caters for everyone, so the activities planned throughout the festival will cater for the viewers across all age groups, and races. This is a way for the channel to connect with their viewers.” says Michelle Kirby, Group Head of Marketing Communications and CSI. Entrance to the venues is R30 for adults and R 10.  Bring your picnic basket and come have fun with your favourite e.tv celebrities.
