The light at the end of the
tunnel this time is neither the long awaited return of Jesus nor the sharp
summer morning sun, but Exodus.
Indeed Culoe De Song, real name
Culolethu Zulu’s long awaited third studio album is titled EXODUS and has finally hit the shelves after
being postponed thrice. The album with
ten impeccably composed and arranged pieces certain to take you on a musical
journey a few have ever been to, can easily command a acme position amongst
best produced album in 2013.
Exodus presents a much more
mature, authentic and incredibly inspired Culoe with each song narrating a
different and captivating story. The journey of Exodus begins with what many
can easily describe as an African village ditty “Exodus”. Apart from the
already popular club bangers such as NO CONTEST, Ma Africa and Lovin’ Marvin
the introduction of some fresh talent such as Thandi Draai, Soulstar, Moneoa
and veterans such as Shota, Khanyo Maphumulo of Sarafina fame, Kabomo, Ternielle
Nelson and more, makes it an easy to listen to album, best described by many
musicians and industry peers as Culoe De Song’s most iconic work
Culoe De Song’s A Giant Leap
introduced him to the industry and scored him thousands of fans across the
globe, with much laudable collaborations from some of Africa’s musical icons
like the late great Busi Mhlongo, Salif Keita, Thandiswa Mazwai and Jimmy
Dludlu. It is the same album that saw him perform alongside seasoned DJ’s all
over the world. In 2011, Culoe De Song went on to release his second album Elevation,
which had all the ingredients of a smash hit album -which in all aspects lived
up to. Elevation is the album that got a lot of people taking notice of his
talent and certified potential longevity and brilliance.
Exodus is available at all music stores including Look & Listen, Musica, CNA, Game Stores, Makro and on Itunes. The album exudes a distinct feel to it, fusing all his influences, creating what is now the future sound of house music, refreshing and distinctly African.
