Terry Pheto to star in The Bold and the Beautiful

Hot South African actress Terry Pheto has landed the role of a lifetime.

She will be joining the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful from 13 June, 2011 to play a recurring role as a heart surgeon in the popular daytime drama. Pheto is currently in Los Angeles preparing for her role – watching as the storyline unfolds to incorporate her character.

The writers of The Bold and the Beautiful aren’t revealing too much about her role at this stage. However, they have confirmed that Pheto will be playing the part of a 'world renowned, South African heart surgeon' in the Emmy nominated daytime drama series.  The Producer for The Bold and the Beautiful wanted to bring in a storyline with a South African character for a while now, the PR statement said.
"They wanted to engage their South African fan base in a direct manner, and when the opportunity came along to cast a South African actress of Terry’s scope (Tsotsi) and beauty in The Bold and the Beautiful, they knew they had to do it. "This role is one that Pheto has not played before – it's the perfect combination of intelligence and beauty that made Terry Pheto perfect for this role."

Pheto is extremely excited to be joining the cast of an international daytime drama series.
“This is the opportunity of a lifetime and I look forward to sharing the screen with my soapie heroes Katherine Kelly Lang and Susan Flannery, while sinking my thespian teeth into a challenging role,” she said.

Terry Pheto's scenes will only air in South Africa in 2012.
