KANIVO RETURNS WITH A WINNER

Following the overwhelming success of his first single JOZI CITY OF LIGHTS, Joburg based rapper Kanivo returns with a fresh brand new single titled WINNER featuring Nani, a track which is set to become a street anthem around South Africa.

Unlike his previous single release, which was up for download at a fee, this time around this banger is available to the public as a free download.

"There's a lot of people that support me based on the buzz that has been created on social networks but they don't necessary know my music, so I felt as a way of giving back, I will release a song that will be downloaded for free," says the Hip Hop artist

Kanivo's first single JOZI CITY OF LIGHTS featured talented vocalist, TV personality and actress Miranda Mokhele known for her roles in Tshisa, Mthunzini.com and Rhythm City. JOZI CITY OF LIGHTS was on high rotation on Gauteng youth radio station YFM for six months and it amassed a sizeable amount of mobile downloads and was even picked to be used for a soundtrack of a movie.

However Kanivo says, with this single, the ambition is bigger. "The aim is to have a national footprint. To extend to other territories and open up new markets."

This single features the vocals of talented singer Nani, another gem who will release her debut African Soul album through Kanivo's artists management agency KamLINE this year. "We are working hard on delivering a solid product for Nani, I can't wait for people to hear her sounds."

But perhaps one of the biggest star attraction about Kanivo's new single is its producer Ab Crazy. The Cashtime Fam member and solo artist, well known for his smash hit Man Of The Moment, has been churning out hits for a number of artists of late and Kanivo holds him in high regard.

"I personally feel that he's the best producer in the country right now and I'm looking forward to doing more work with him," he mentions.

The release of WINNER marks Kanivo's long awaited release of his debut album titled THE K-WORD. The album will be released digitally in the next couple of weeks, which Kanivo explains, is to create enough demand before he ventures into the physical copy sphere.

"It wouldn't make business sense to hurry up the process of getting into retail outlets when the awareness is still being created. So far my strongest presence has been in the cyber space; hence I felt a digital release is appropriate." But copies are available if you order them.

She was a celebrity contestant on the M-Net reality competition Survivor South Africa: Maldives, in 2011. She began her career at the tender age of 10 years old, starting with the odd TV commercial. It’s show about freedom, truth and God. Unashamed holds nothing back. The two presenters, Xylon and Roxy, go deep in conversation with the celebrity guests about the reality and rawness of being a Christian. They talk about doubts and fears and how peal back the layers of “perfect” Christianity.
